Small Luxury Hotels of the World has added new hotels in Italy and Greece to its portfolio, each one ideal for couple and family summer getaways. The hotels offer history, culture, and attractions like picking up new culinary skills for a Tuscan feast, learning a traditional Apulian tarantella dance, discovering new sights on a Vespa with a significant other, or spending a day of watersports with the family.

Eagles Villas: Halkidiki, Greece

Set on a hillside on the Halkidiki Peninsula in northern Greece, this collection of luxury sea-view villas with private heated plunge pools is a newly created extension to Eagles Palace. Note: Each villa has views towards Mount Athos and the Aegean Sea.

The resort’s Aqua Explorers kids club offers six water sports programs daily for five to 13-year-olds, and parents can unwind at the spa or explore the historic villages and beaches of Halkidiki.

Hotel Vilòn: Rome, Italy

This boutique hotel in the heart of Rome is a short trip away from the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and the shopping district. The revived historic mansion in the Campo Marzio neighborhood used to be a convent and dates back to the mid-16th century when it was known as the “House annexed to Palazzo Borghese”.

Throughout the property, guests will find marble bathrooms, velvet furnishings, and elegant works of art – hallmarks of architect and designer Paolo Bonfini. Guests looking to explore Rome can contact the concierge to arrange tailor-made sightseeing trips and exclusive transport.

Villa di Piazzano – Tuscany, Italy

This historic, family-run estate, dating back to 1464, is located in the countryside just outside Cortona, a town on the border between Tuscany and Umbria.

Originally the hunting lodge of Cardinal Passerini, the Renaissance country estate in the hills has been restored to provide “down-to-earth luxury” to guests.
