Château Eza has consecutively placed in the World’s Top 100 Hotels and has been listed in Travel + Leisure’s Top 500 Hotels from 2006-2014, Conde Nast Traveler Gold List 2014 and their Reader’s Choice Awards. An intimate property of 12 rooms and suites in the medieval village of Eze, the hotel offers sweeping views from Monte Carlo to St. Tropez.
Situated atop a rocky outcrop of 1400 feet above sea level, the village of Eze has continually evolved from its founding in the 8th century. Its strategic location subjected the village to the ebb and flow of the region’s dramatic history. Eze was invaded by the Moors in the 10th century, saw its fortress castle built in the 12th, witnessed the creation of Chapelle de la Saint Croixe in the 14th, was taken by Suleiman the Magnificent in the 16th and then sacked by the soldiers of Louis XIV at the beginning of the 18th century. By the 19th, although its strategic location faded in importance, the panoramic views, cool clean air and incredible light began to draw writers and artists to the village.
Signatures of top artists, intellectuals, princes, political and sports figures, have marked the history of this unique property: Harrison Ford, Ursula Andres, Claudia Schiffer, David Copperfield, Peter O’Toole, Roger Moore, Sean Connery, The Swedish Royal Family, LL Cool J, Stevie Wonder, Boris Becker, Folori, Dormesson, Billy Joel, and various members of U2.
Eze is situated on the Moyenne Corniche between Nice and Monaco – 25 minute drive from Nice to the West or Monte Carlo to the East. Nice International Airport is only 18 km away.
Rates start from EUR 280 for a Double Room.
